Scott Mills has been confirmed to continue as the host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show for another week, as Zoe Ball remains absent. Ball, who has been off air since the beginning of August, will not be returning just yet, with Mills taking up the hosting duties once again.
Mills has been filling in as the replacement host since August 12, when Ball took her leave. The BBC has not provided details about Ball’s absence but assured that she would be back later in September. Gaby Roslin and now Scott Mills have been standing in for Ball, with Mills reassuring listeners not to be alarmed if they tune in to find him hosting instead of Ball.
Ball had returned briefly in August for three days after a holiday in Ibiza but has not been heard on air since. There has been no activity on her social media accounts since August 5. In March, Ball had taken time off to care for her mother who was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Ball returned to the show on May 13 after her mother’s passing in April.
Despite the ongoing absence of Zoe Ball, Scott Mills will continue to entertain Radio 2 Breakfast Show listeners until Ball’s expected return at the end of September.
