A drug dealer was found with hundreds of pounds worth of MDMA, cocaine, and ketamine after he was discovered by a sniffer dog at a warehouse venue. Kian Morgan-Brew, 21, attended the DEPOT venue in Cardiff on May 23 last year when a sniffer dog indicated the defendant may have been carrying drugs. He denied it initially but when searched he was found in possession of 23 bags of drugs concealed in his clothes.
At a sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court, it was revealed that the defendant was found with a bag of cocaine for personal use, eight bags of ketamine, and a quantity of MDMA in crystalline and tablet form. The drugs were estimated to be worth £300 to £600. Morgan-Brew, of Church Avenue, Boverton, Llantwit Major, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, and possession of a class A drug.
In mitigation, his lawyer, Sol Hartley, explained that Morgan-Brew had been dealing drugs to fund his own habit and expressed regret for his actions. The court heard that he started using cannabis at the age of nine but now wants to leave drugs behind for the sake of his young son. Judge Lucy Crowther sentenced Morgan-Brew to 24 months imprisonment suspended for 21 months. He was also ordered to carry out a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work.
