A student with a phobia of pigeons was shocked to find one had made itself at home in his flat in Nottingham. Josiah Hunsu returned from a few weeks back home in London to discover the pigeon had built a nest and even laid two eggs on his sofa. The 19-year-old, who was preparing to move out at the end of his tenancy, initially noticed a beetle in the hallway but was taken aback when he found bird poo in the kitchen and a pigeon perched on the sofa with a nest made from branches brought in through the open window.
Josiah’s reaction was captured in a hilarious video where he expressed disbelief at the situation before seeking help from the reception desk. A friend from another flat joined in, and together, they managed to shoo the pigeon away, revealing the two eggs beneath the sofa. The bird had been in residence for about a week, showing territorial behaviour over its eggs.
Josiah, who has had previous encounters with pigeons in his flat, shared that the incident triggered his phobia, especially after experiencing a similar incident where a pigeon entered his room and caused damage. Despite the frightful encounter, the receptionists safely removed the eggs and released the pigeon back outside.
Reflecting on the incident, Josiah described feeling scared and panicked due to his fear of pigeons. He expressed his relief that the situation was resolved but admitted to being left traumatised by the unexpected visitor in his flat.
