But there are some risks to travelling and with some extremely popular destinations, there are things to be aware of. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advises UK citizens on travel to all countries, and has plenty of important information for people travelling to holiday hotspots such as Greece, Spain, and Turkey to help them keep themselves and their families safe. Spain:

Terrorism is a concern in Spain, with terrorists likely to try and carry out attacks indiscriminately. Make sure to protect your belongings, be cautious of distraction techniques used by thieves, and stay vigilant especially in high tourist areas. Stay safe around vehicles, avoid unlicensed taxis, and be aware of your surroundings in public areas. If you plan to drink, know your limit and watch your drinks to avoid being spiked.
Greece:
Greece is the birthplace of democracy and boasts beautiful islands, making it a top destination. Terrorism is a risk, especially in major cities. Stay vigilant, avoid demonstrations, and follow local advice. Street robbery and pick-pocketing are common in tourist areas, so keep an eye on your belongings.
