Calls have been made for Britannia to either reopen or sell the sites, with a campaign led by former Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies. However, the company has not disclosed any plans for the Prestatyn park. Local residents, like Amy from Bangor, who frequented the Pontins camp in the past and holds many cherished memories there, expressed sadness at seeing it in such a neglected condition.
She reflected on the site’s history as a place of joy for many families and highlighted its potential to be revitalised for future generations to enjoy. Others echoed similar sentiments on social media, reminiscing about the good times they had spent at the holiday park and lamenting its current state of disrepair.
Britannia Hotels has been approached for comment on the future of the Prestatyn site, but has yet to provide any details. The community hopes for a positive outcome, whether through reopening the park or finding a new owner willing to restore its former glory.
