Two brothers have been found guilty of running a “one stop shop” for drugs, with a range of substances including cocaine, ketamine, LSD, and ecstasy being supplied to customers. The Swansea Crown Court heard that Sion Davies, who had a previous conviction for trafficking heroin and crack cocaine, was sentenced to 45 months in prison. His younger sibling, Philip Davies, with no prior convictions, received a 33-month sentence for their involvement in drug dealing.
The court proceedings revealed that police officers executed a search warrant at the brothers’ shared home in Cwmavon, where they discovered quantities of cocaine, MDMA, weighing scales, and various drug-related paraphernalia. Messages found on the brothers’ mobile phones indicated their involvement in the supply of cannabis, cocaine, ketamine, LSD, and ecstasy. Sion Davies had additional charges of possession with intent to supply cocaine and ecstasy.
Representatives for the defendants acknowledged the operations of a “one stop shop” for drugs, citing addiction and financial motives as driving factors. Sion Davies had been actively engaging in prison activities, such as mentoring other inmates, while awaiting sentencing. Philip Davies, who had a responsible job prior to getting involved in drug dealing, was noted to have learned from his actions.
In his sentencing remarks, Recorder Simon Hughes acknowledged the involvement of both brothers in supplying Class A and Class B drugs. Despite some leniency for their guilty pleas, the brothers were handed prison terms with the possibility of early release on licence after serving half of their sentences.
