Europe’s largest cereal plant is set to be established in Wrexham, following a £75 million investment by Kellanova. This significant development will result in the creation of 130 new job opportunities. Kellanova, an already prominent employer in the region, has decided to expand its operations, transforming its existing facility into Europe’s leading cereal plant.
With a current workforce of 350 employees, the company has been a vital contributor to the job market in Wrexham for over 40 years. The infusion of funds into advanced sustainable production technology will enable the factory to produce a staggering 1.5 million boxes of cereal daily. This expansion ensures the continuation of UK-based production for renowned brands such as Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Crunchy Nut, and Special K.
Wrexham Council has expressed positivity towards the initiative, with Councillor Nigel Williams, the lead member for economy and tourism, stating, “This investment will not only create 130 skilled and well-paid jobs but will also solidify the plant’s position as the largest cereal producer in Europe, securing its long-term future.” He highlighted the ongoing trend of substantial investments by international companies in Wrexham, showcasing confidence in the region’s business environment.
