An application has been submitted to Bridgend Council for the construction of 133 new homes in the Llynfi Valley region. The proposal, put forth by Persimmon Homes, is part of the local development plan and includes plans for residential properties, access development, landscaping, and associated works on a site near Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd.
The proposed development site, spanning around six hectares near the village of Llangynwyd, consists of two fields and woodland from Tyn-Y-Waun Farm. The application includes a provision for 15% of the properties to be designated as affordable housing to meet local needs.
This submission follows a previous proposal for 73 homes on nearby land earlier in the year. The new application aims to contribute to a sustainable neighbourhood, with an emphasis on blending in with the local landscape and providing green infrastructure for both residents and the environment.
The prospective housing development will predominantly feature two-storey homes in various sizes, offering two, three, and four-bedroom options with a mix of designs and finishes. Submitted in July 2024, the proposal is now awaiting consideration by the local planning department for a decision in the upcoming months.
