A teenager who featured on a BBC program alongside Freddie Flintoff has tragically passed away. Umar Mahmood, aged 18, lost his life in a car accident on September 10. The young man sustained severe injuries in the crash involving an Audi A3 Sport that veered off the road and struck trees. Another Penwortham Priory Academy pupil, 16-year-old Adam Bodi, also lost his life in the same incident.
Umar had been part of the BBC One documentary ‘Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams,’ as reported by LancsLive. Principal Matthew Eastham of Penwortham Priory Academy expressed deep sorrow, describing Umar as bright, studious, and beloved within the school community. Umar had a passion for Geography and cricket, playing for the school team. The academy is mourning the loss of a considerate and ambitious young man.
The Preston Muslim Burial Society confirmed that Umar and Adam would be laid to rest at Preston cemetery at 3pm. A spokesperson from the society extended prayers for strength to the families during this challenging period. The entire school community, as well as friends and family, are in mourning as they remember Umar’s kindness and dedication.
