The cool new adventure playground with an ‘ocean giant’ coming to Aberavon seafront

A new adventure playground is set to grace Aberavon Beach in Port Talbot, Wales, bringing a unique play experience to families visiting the area. Costing over £200,000, the playground will incorporate recycled ocean waste and feature an impressive 8.9-metre-high play tower, climbing walls, slides, swings, and other play equipment.

The highlight of the playground will be the Ocean Giant play tower, surrounded by nautical-themed features such as dolphins and shells. The project aims to provide an inclusive play area for children aged 6-12, with a focus on creating a captivating experience for families to enjoy.

Funded by Neath Port Talbot Council’s ‘green up and clean up’ initiative, the playground is part of a larger effort to enhance public spaces and attract visitors to the area. The construction will begin with the demolition of the existing playground, followed by the installation of the new features, including safety matting and amenities for visitors’ comfort.

Council members express their excitement about the project, expecting it to become a popular destination for families, contributing to the local economy. The installation is scheduled to take approximately eight weeks, with work commencing shortly to bring this exciting new attraction to Aberavon Seafront.

The playground’s design focuses on accessibility and providing a one-of-a-kind play experience, aligning with the council’s commitment to creating high-quality public spaces. Families can look forward to exploring and enjoying this new adventure playground, offering a fun and engaging environment for children of all ages and abilities.
