The third person who tragically lost their life in a devastating crash in Beaumaris, a seaside town in Wales, has been identified as Humphrey Pickering, aged 81, from Colwyn Bay in Conwy. The crash occurred when the Audi car driven by Pickering collided with pedestrians Stephen Burch and his wife Katherine on Alma Street in Beaumaris on August 28. All three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. and Mrs. Burch, from the Midlands, were visiting the area when the tragic incident took place.
At the inquest opening at Caernarfon Coroners’ Court on September 4, Senior coroner for north-west Wales Kate Robertson described the details of the collision, stating that Mr. Pickering’s vehicle collided with the Burch couple and then with a property along Alma Street. The cause of death for the Burch couple was recorded as multiple injuries, while Mr. Pickering succumbed to chest injuries, as confirmed by air ambulance medics at the scene.
