Wales’ most wanted woman, Lynne Leyson, has been apprehended by police after 16 months on the run. Leyson, who was involved in a family drug dealing business operating from Carmarthenshire, has now begun a nine-year prison sentence. Last year, her husband and son were convicted for their roles in the drug operation, but Leyson had evaded capture until now. Following a raid on their property, significant quantities of cocaine and cannabis were discovered along with a semi-automatic pistol – a rare find in the Dyfed-Powys Police area.
Leyson, a key figure in the criminal network, was extradited back to Swansea Crown Court to face justice. The Leysons’ illicit activities spanned across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, and Swansea, prompting a wide-ranging police investigation codenamed Operation Hilston.
